Universal Cannula Site Underpatch for Tandem & Medtronic

Designed for a wide variety of compatible Tandem and Medtronic cannula and infusion-set sites.

The Freedom Underpatch™ is a flexible 2.25-inch adhesive barrier accessory placed beneath compatible infusion-set adhesive. Also commonly described as an underlay, underlay patch or adhesive barrier, it provides a physical layer beneath the original site adhesive while allowing the cannula and connector area to remain properly aligned.

The center opening is designed to leave room for the compatible connection point while the surrounding underpatch provides barrier coverage beneath the original adhesive.

How to Apply

1. Clean and completely dry the application area.
2. Apply the Freedom Underpatch™ at the selected application area using the 3-part backing.
3. Position the compatible cannula or infusion set so the connection point aligns with the center opening.
4. Apply the compatible site adhesive over the underpatch according to the manufacturer's instructions.
5. Add a compatible overpatch if additional edge reinforcement is desired.

Underpatch vs. Overpatch

An underpatch is placed first beneath the compatible site adhesive. An overpatch goes over and around the existing site adhesive to reinforce the outside edges. The two accessories serve different placement purposes and can be combined when appropriate.
