Freedom Band® frequently asked questions

A Freedom Band uses an adjustable reusable band with a compatible Freedom Case positioned over your CGM or pump site. It adds a physical layer of protection against everyday bumps and accidental snags while allowing the system to be removed and reused.

Freedom Bands provide adjustable reusable retention. Freedom Guards are flexible protective covers. Overpatches add adhesive coverage around a device. Underpatches create a barrier layer between the device adhesive and skin for customers who prefer that setup.

Not every protection type is available for every device. Check the product title and compatibility details before ordering.

Our current Freedom Band accessory lineup is latex-free. Materials vary by product and may include elastic, nylon, polyester, cotton, silicone, or adhesive materials. Review the specific product page if you have known sensitivities, and discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Measure the area where you plan to wear the band and select a size range that includes that measurement. Bands adjust within their listed range. Do not guess based only on age or clothing size.

Lay the band flat, fold and secure it to the length you need, then attach the band ends to the compatible Freedom Case. Position the case over the device and adjust the fit so it is secure but comfortable.

Yes. The reusable band-and-case design can be added or removed when desired. Follow your device manufacturer’s directions and avoid pulling directly against the sensor, infusion site, or adhesive.

Customers use Freedom Band accessories during many everyday activities, including exercise, sports, swimming, sleep, school, work, and household routines. No accessory can prevent every device loss. Follow the device manufacturer’s water-exposure and activity guidance, and check the fit before and after activity.

Hand wash the removable band using cool or lukewarm water and a small amount of mild soap. Rinse well and let it air dry completely before wearing it again. Avoid high heat, bleach, and harsh cleaners that can damage elastic or hook-and-loop materials.

Freedom Cases and Freedom Guards include a lifetime warranty against covered product defects. Freedom Bands include a 30-day warranty. Adhesive products, apparel, and unrelated accessories are not covered by an implied lifetime warranty.
