Why our materials stay white and tan

Every component of Freedom Patch products is made in the USA, and every order ships from the USA. Our patches are produced and shipped in the USA using medical adhesive materials engineered by one of the world’s largest American medical-material manufacturers. We leave the material in its natural white and tan finishes because our mission is comfortable, functional protection—not decoration.

Important: Freedom Patch uses a pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive, so we do not describe it as acrylate-free or allergy-proof. Public composition documents also do not provide enough detail for us to claim that every possible rosin-related or specialty acrylate allergen is absent.

The short answer

Why can it be called hypoallergenic?

“Hypoallergenic” does not mean allergy-proof. It means the material is designed to reduce the likelihood of an allergic or irritation response compared with materials containing more common triggers.

The adhesive system is latex-free, and the soft, breathable, conformable backing is designed to move with skin. Those features may help reduce moisture buildup, pulling at the edges, and friction—three factors that can contribute to discomfort. However, any skin-contact adhesive can still cause a reaction in some people.

Latex-free

Avoids natural-rubber latex as an adhesive ingredient. This does not rule out sensitivity to acrylates or other components.

Breathable

A porous construction permits moisture vapor to move through the material; it does not make skin immune to sweat or irritation.

Conformable

The backing follows body contours and movement, which may reduce concentrated pulling compared with a stiff material.

Evidence, without the hype

What the available data supports

Porous, elastic nonwoven construction

Supports: Breathability and high conformability.

Limit: Material properties do not guarantee a specific wear time.

Pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive

Supports: A bond formed with firm, even pressure on clean, dry skin.

Limit: Acrylate sensitivity is still possible.

Material-level biocompatibility testing

Supports: Supplier testing for cytotoxicity, irritation, and sensitization using ISO 10993 methods.

Limit: Raw-material testing is not a clinical trial of the finished Freedom Patch.

Water-resistant wearable-material design

Supports: Normal moisture exposure after the adhesive bond forms.

Limit: Soaking, friction, lotions, sweat, placement, and skin type affect performance.

The supplier states that final-product suitability and testing remain the converter’s responsibility. We therefore describe these results as material-level evidence, not proof that every customer will have the same experience.

Sensitive-skin checklist

Start small. Watch your skin.

Patch-test a small piece on clean, intact skin before longer wear.
Do not apply over a rash, broken skin, or an active irritation.
Skip lotions, oils, and alcohol that has not fully dried.
Apply with even pressure and avoid stretching the material or skin.
Check the site regularly. Remove it if you notice persistent itching, burning, swelling, blistering, or spreading redness.
