These instructions will help you apply and use the Freedom Guard™ System with the following CGM and pump devices. Although the shape of each CGM or pump may be different, the application process is the same for all devices.

Freedom Guard™ Application Instructions

The Freedom Guard™ System is designed to provide added protection for your diabetes device. These general application instructions apply to: Dexcom G7, FreeStyle Libre 2, FreeStyle Libre 3, FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus, Omnipod 5, Omnipod DASH, and Medtronic Guardian.

Important: Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for your specific CGM or pump device.

Before You Begin

Your CGM or pump device should already be properly applied to the skin, activated, and in use according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Make sure the skin surrounding the device is clean, completely dry, and free of lotion, oils, sunscreen, or sweat.

Step 1 - Prepare the Area

☐ Make sure your CGM or pump is already properly applied and in use.

☐ Clean and completely dry the skin surrounding the device.

☐ Make sure the skin is free of lotion, oils, sunscreen, sweat, or other products that may interfere with adhesion.

Step 2 - Apply the Freedom Patch to the Freedom Guard™

☐ Remove the inner release liner from the Freedom Patch to expose the adhesive.

☐ Carefully place the Freedom Patch onto the Freedom Guard™, making sure it is properly positioned.

☐ Press and squeeze around the Freedom Guard™ and Freedom Patch to ensure a solid bond between the patch and the guard.

Step 3 - Remove the Outer Release Liner

☐ Remove the outer release liner from the Freedom Patch.

☐ The Freedom Guard System is now ready to apply to your skin.

Step 4 - Apply the Freedom Guard System

☐ Carefully position the Freedom Guard System over your already-installed CGM or pump.

☐ Make sure the device is properly positioned within the Freedom Guard™.

☐ Make sure the Freedom Guard™ does not interfere with the normal operation of your device.

☐ Gently press the Freedom Patch onto the skin around the device.

Step 5 - Secure the Adhesive

☐ Using your finger, gently run around the entire adhesive area where the Freedom Patch contacts the skin.

☐ Run your finger around the adhesive approximately 10 times to help ensure a secure fit and solid adhesion.

☐ Pay special attention to the outer edges and corners.

Step 6 - Allow the Freedom Guard System to Bond

Quick Application Checklist

☐ Apply your CGM or pump.

☐ Prepare the skin. Clean and completely dry the area.

☐ Apply the Freedom Patch to the Freedom Guard™.

☐ Press around the guard and patch to ensure solid adhesion.

☐ Remove the outer release liner.

☐ Apply the Freedom Guard System over the CGM or pump.

☐ Press the Freedom Patch onto the skin.

☐ Run your finger around the adhesive 10 times.

☐ WAIT 6-8 HOURS before bathing, swimming, exercising, or other activities.
