Protect Your Device with the Freedom Guard System

The reusable Freedom Guard fits over a compatible CGM or pump device. The adhesive Freedom Patch attaches to the Guard and secures the complete system to the surrounding skin.

The application process is the same across compatible Freedom Guard systems, although the Guard shape and patch size may vary by device.

How to Apply the Freedom Guard System

Prepare the Area

Confirm that your CGM or pump is properly applied and operating according to its manufacturer’s instructions. Clean and completely dry the surrounding skin.

Attach the Freedom Patch to the Guard

Remove the inner release liner from the Freedom Patch. Carefully center the Freedom Patch on the Freedom Guard, then press and squeeze around the Guard to create a secure bond between both pieces.

Remove the Outer Release Liner

Peel away the remaining outer release liner without touching the exposed adhesive more than necessary.

Position the Freedom Guard

Center the Freedom Guard over the already-installed device. Confirm that the device sits correctly inside the Guard and that the Guard does not interfere with normal device operation.

Secure the Freedom Patch

Press the Freedom Patch gently onto the surrounding skin. Smooth from the center outward, then run your finger around the complete adhesive area approximately 10 times. Pay special attention to every edge and corner.

Allow 4–6 Hours to Bond

Keep the application dry and avoid swimming, bathing, showering, exercise or heavy sweating for 4–6 hours.

Quick Application Checklist

The device is properly installed and in use.
The surrounding skin is clean, dry and product-free.
The Freedom Patch is securely attached to the Freedom Guard.
The Freedom Guard is centered without interfering with the device.
The patch was smoothed and pressed approximately 10 times.
Every edge is flat with no lifting or wrinkles.
The application has 4–6 hours to bond before moisture or strenuous activity.

Reusable Guard, Replaceable Patch

The Freedom Guard is reusable. The adhesive Freedom Patch is replaced when needed. After removing a worn patch, gently clean and completely dry the Guard before attaching a fresh compatible Freedom Patch.

The Freedom Guard system is an accessory and does not replace your device manufacturer’s adhesive, application, wear or safety instructions. Check the application regularly. Remove the accessory and discontinue use if irritation or discomfort occurs. Contact an appropriate healthcare professional if a reaction is severe or persistent.
