A CGM armband should feel secure enough to stay in position during normal movement, but it should not need to feel excessively tight. The best fit is stable, comfortable and easy to wear for the activity you are doing.
Measure where you actually wear the band
Use a soft measuring tape around the part of your arm or leg where the band will sit. Keep the tape flat against the body without pulling it tight. If you do not have a soft tape, use a piece of string and measure the string against a ruler.
What a good fit feels like
- The band stays in place during normal movement.
- The protective case remains centered over the wearable.
- The band does not need to dig into the skin to stay secure.
- You can readjust the strap as activity, clothing or placement changes.
Our 1-inch Freedom Band adjustable CGM armband adjusts from approximately 4–26 inches. Device-specific starter kits combine the band with a matching Freedom Case, including options for Dexcom G7, G7 15 Day & Stelo and FreeStyle Libre 3, 3 Plus & Duo.
Tighter is not automatically better
An armband is a mechanical protection accessory, not a compression device. Its job is to help hold the protective case in position. If you notice discomfort, pressure marks, numbness, swelling or circulation concerns, loosen or remove the band and address the fit before continuing to wear it.
When an armband is not the only option
Some people prefer adhesive-only protection. Others like a reusable guard or combine products for specific activities. Compare the approaches in our CGM armband vs. overpatch vs. guard guide.
Fit can vary by body location and activity, so recheck the band whenever you change where it is worn.
