Freedom Guard + Your Favorite Libre 2 or Lingo Overpatch: How Reusable Guards Work With Compatible Patches

A reusable guard and an adhesive overpatch do not have to be thought of as one inseparable product. For compatible Libre 2 and Lingo setups, the guard is the reusable physical-protection piece, while the overpatch is the adhesive layer that helps secure the overall setup.

You are not limited to one patch look

If a patch is correctly sized and shaped for the guard system, you may be able to choose among compatible patch styles rather than being locked into one appearance. That makes it easier to change colors, materials or seasonal looks while reusing the same guard.

Compatibility is the key word. Not every third-party patch opening, outside diameter or adhesive layout will work with every guard.

What to check before pairing a patch and guard

• The center opening must accommodate the guard correctly.
• The adhesive needs enough surrounding surface area to secure the system as intended.
• The patch should not force the guard into the wearable or interfere with required device components.
• The complete setup must still follow the wearable manufacturer’s instructions.

Freedom Guard vs. patch

The guard adds reusable physical coverage. The patch is adhesive reinforcement. If your issue is simply an edge beginning to lift, you may not need a guard at all. If your main concern is repeated impacts or snags, the reusable guard is the more relevant component.
