Sports and active lifestyles expose a CGM to more than sweat. Jerseys, backpacks, equipment, doorways, seat belts and repeated arm movement can all create opportunities for bumps and snags. The best protection depends on what is actually causing problems for you.
For adhesive lifting: consider an overpatch
A device-specific overpatch increases adhesive coverage around a CGM. It can be useful when sweat and repetitive movement are the primary concerns. Start with clean, dry skin and follow both the CGM manufacturer's instructions and the patch application instructions.
For bumps and snags: consider a guard
A compatible protective guard adds a physical layer around or over the sensor. This can be useful for activities where equipment, clothing or everyday contact is more likely to strike the CGM.
For reusable protection: consider a band system
A reusable CGM armband can add protection without relying entirely on additional adhesive. Fit matters: the band should be secure without being excessively tight, and it should never interfere with the CGM's intended operation.
Active kids and school days
Backpacks, playgrounds, sports practices and clothing changes create plenty of opportunities for accidental contact. Parents should choose accessories compatible with the child's specific CGM and follow the manufacturer's approved wear-site and age guidance.
