Freedom Underpatch™ Hypoallergenic Barrier Adhesive Application Instructions
The Freedom Underpatch™ is designed to provide a hypoallergenic barrier between your skin and the adhesive used with your diabetes device. The Underpatch™ is applied directly to the skin before your CGM, pump, or cannula is applied.
These general application instructions are intended for use with diabetes devices, including CGMs, insulin pumps, and infusion cannulas.
Before You Begin
Make sure the area of skin where your CGM, pump, or cannula will be applied is clean, completely dry, and free of lotion, oils, sunscreen, sweat, or other products that may interfere with adhesion.
The Freedom Underpatch™ should be applied before applying your CGM, pump, or cannula.
Important: Do not apply the Freedom Underpatch™ immediately before bathing, swimming, or strenuous activity. Allow 4–6 hours after application to ensure the adhesive has properly bonded with the skin.

Step 2 - Apply the Freedom Underpatch™
☐ Remove the release liner from the Freedom Underpatch™ to expose the adhesive.
☐ Carefully position the Freedom Underpatch™ directly onto the prepared skin.

☐ Gently press the Freedom Underpatch™ onto the skin, working from the center outward.
Step 3 - Secure the Barrier Patch
☐ Using your finger, gently press around the entire Freedom Underpatch™ to create a secure bond with the skin.
☐ Run your finger around the entire adhesive area approximately 10 times to help ensure a secure fit and solid adhesion.
☐ Pay special attention to the outer edges and corners.

Step 4 - Apply Your CGM, Pump, or Cannula
☐ Once the Freedom Underpatch™ is securely bonded to the skin, apply your CGM, pump, or cannula directly over the Freedom Underpatch™ according to the manufacturer's instructions.
☐ Make sure the device is properly positioned and applied.
☐ Follow all manufacturer instructions for insertion, activation, and use of your specific device.
☐ Do not allow the Freedom Underpatch™ to interfere with the insertion or normal operation of your device.
IMPORTANT – Add an Over patch or Freedom Guard™
☐ We strongly recommend applying an over patch or Freedom Guard™ over your CGM, pump, or cannula and the Freedom Underpatch™. This additional layer helps protect the entire application and helps keep the Underpatch™ and your CGM, pump, or cannula firmly secured in place during everyday activities.
☐ Our adhesive patches are made from the same type of material as the Freedom Underpatch™ and are designed to work together. You can use our adhesive patches, Freedom Underpatch™, and Freedom Guard™ together as part of your protection and securing system.
Step 5 - Allow the Adhesive to Bond
☐ WAIT 4–6 HOURS BEFORE ACTIVITY OR BATHING.
Allow the Freedom Underpatch™, your device adhesive, and any over patch or Freedom Guard™ adhesive time to securely bond before swimming, bathing, showering, exercising, or other activities involving moisture or excessive sweating.
