An Overpatch Applied After Your Device

The Freedom Solo Overpatch adds adhesive support around a compatible CGM, pump or infusion cannula. It is applied after the device has been placed according to its manufacturer’s directions.

Freedom Solo can be used by itself. A Freedom Guard is not required. A compatible Freedom Guard may be added when additional reusable physical protection is desired.

How to Apply Freedom Solo

Apply Your Device

Prepare the application site and apply your CGM, pump or infusion cannula according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Confirm that the device and its adhesive are correctly positioned.

Prepare the Freedom Solo Overpatch

Select the Freedom Solo made for your device. Remove the release liner while handling the patch by its edges whenever possible. Do not stretch the patch during application.

Center the Overpatch

Carefully position Freedom Solo over the device and its existing adhesive. Make sure it extends evenly onto the surrounding skin and does not interfere with the device’s functional components.

Smooth and Secure

Press from the center outward to reduce wrinkles and air pockets. Run your finger around the complete adhesive area approximately 10 times, paying special attention to every edge and corner.

Allow 4–6 Hours to Bond

Keep the application dry and avoid swimming, bathing, showering, exercise or heavy sweating for 4–6 hours.

Quick Application Checklist

  • The device is properly installed and in use.
  • The surrounding skin is clean, completely dry and product-free.
  • The correct Freedom Solo was selected for the device.
  • The patch was centered without stretching.
  • The patch does not interfere with device operation.
  • The adhesive was smoothed and pressed approximately 10 times.
  • Every edge is flat with no lifting or wrinkles.
  • The application has 4–6 hours to bond before moisture or strenuous activity.

Freedom Solo + Other Freedom Products

Freedom Solo is a complete stand-alone overpatch and does not require a Freedom Guard. When compatible with your device, it may also be used with a Freedom Underpatch beneath the device or with a Freedom Guard for added physical protection.

Freedom Solo patches are latex-free and zinc-free and use the same adhesive material technology as the Freedom Underpatch.

Important Safety Information

Freedom Solo is an accessory and does not replace your device manufacturer’s adhesive, application, wear or safety instructions. It is not an Underpatch and should not be placed beneath a device.

Consider testing a small area of skin before applying a new adhesive product. Remove the patch and discontinue use if redness, itching, irritation or discomfort occurs. Contact an appropriate healthcare professional if a reaction is severe or persistent.
