Freedom Solo™ Over Patch Application Instructions

The Freedom Solo™ Over Patch is designed to provide an additional layer of adhesive support and protection over your CGM, insulin pump, or infusion cannula.

Unlike the Freedom Underpatch™, the Freedom Solo™ is an over patch. It is applied after your diabetes device has been placed on the skin and sits directly over the device adhesive and surrounding skin.

Freedom Solo™ Patches are latex-free, zinc-free, and hypoallergenic. They use the same adhesive properties and material technology as the Freedom Underpatch™ Shield, allowing our adhesive patches to be used together as part of your diabetes device protection system.

These general application instructions are intended for use with compatible diabetes devices, including CGMs, insulin pumps, and infusion cannulas.

Before You Begin

Make sure your CGM, pump, or cannula has been properly applied according to the manufacturer's instructions.

The skin surrounding the device should be clean, completely dry, and free of lotion, oils, sunscreen, sweat, or other products that may interfere with adhesion.

Application order:

SKIN → CGM / PUMP / CANNULA → FREEDOM SOLO™

The Freedom Solo™ is a stand-alone over patch and does not require a Freedom Guard™.

Freedom Solo™ can also be used in conjunction with a Freedom Guard™ when additional physical protection is desired.

Quick Application Checklist

☐ Apply your CGM, pump, or cannula according to the manufacturer's instructions.

☐ Make sure the device adhesive is firmly attached to clean, completely dry skin.

☐ Make sure the skin surrounding the device is free of lotion, oils, sunscreen, sweat, or other products that may interfere with adhesion.

☐ Remove the release liner from the Freedom Solo™ Patch.

☐ Carefully position the Freedom Solo™ over the CGM, pump, or cannula and its existing adhesive.

☐ Press the Freedom Solo™ firmly onto the skin around the device.

☐ Run your finger around the entire adhesive area approximately 10 times.

☐ Pay special attention to the edges and corners.

☐ Make sure the Freedom Solo™ is completely adhered with no lifted or loose edges.

☐ Follow the manufacturer's instructions for your specific diabetes device.

WAIT 4–6 HOURS before bathing, swimming, exercising, or other activities involving moisture or excessive sweating.

Step 1 – Apply Your CGM, Pump, or Cannula

☐ Prepare and clean the application area according to the manufacturer's recommended skin-preparation instructions.

☐ Allow the skin to become completely dry.

☐ Make sure the skin is free of lotion, oils, sunscreen, sweat, or other products that may interfere with adhesion.

☐ Apply your CGM, pump, or cannula according to the manufacturer's instructions.

☐ Make sure the device and its adhesive are properly positioned and securely attached to the skin.

Step 2 – Prepare the Freedom Solo™

☐ Select the appropriate Freedom Solo™ Patch for your CGM, pump, or cannula.

☐ Remove the release liner from the Freedom Solo™ to expose the adhesive.

☐ Be careful not to stretch the patch during application.

☐ Handle the patch by the edges whenever possible.

Step 3 – Apply the Freedom Solo™ Over Patch

☐ Carefully position the Freedom Solo™ over your CGM, pump, or cannula and its existing adhesive.

☐ The Freedom Solo™ should extend onto the surrounding skin so it helps reinforce the device adhesive.

☐ Gently press the patch onto the skin, working from the center outward.

☐ Smooth the patch around the device to help eliminate wrinkles or air pockets.

☐ Make sure the patch does not interfere with the normal operation, insertion site, sensor, transmitter, pod, cannula, or other functional components of your device.

Step 4 – Secure the Freedom Solo™

☐ Using your finger, gently press around the entire Freedom Solo™ Patch to create a secure bond with the skin.

☐ Run your finger around the entire adhesive area approximately 10 times to help ensure a secure fit and solid adhesion.

☐ Pay special attention to the outer edges and corners.

☐ Make sure the Freedom Solo™ is completely adhered to the skin with no lifted or loose edges.

Freedom Solo™ + Freedom Guard™

The Freedom Solo™ is a complete stand-alone over patch and does not require a Freedom Guard™.

Freedom Solo™ can be used by itself to provide an additional layer of adhesive support and protection over your CGM, pump, or cannula.

For users who want additional physical protection, the Freedom Solo™ can also be used in conjunction with a Freedom Guard™.

Our adhesive patches are latex-free, zinc-free, and hypoallergenic and use the same adhesive properties as the Freedom Underpatch™ Shield. This allows Freedom Solo™ Patches and the Freedom Underpatch™ Shield to be used together when desired.

Freedom Solo™, Freedom Underpatch™ Shield, and Freedom Guard™ products can be combined as part of your overall device support and protection system.

Step 5 – Allow the Adhesive to Bond

WAIT 4–6 HOURS BEFORE ACTIVITY OR BATHING.

Allow the Freedom Solo™ adhesive time to securely bond to the surrounding skin before swimming, bathing, showering, exercising, or participating in activities involving moisture or excessive sweating.

This helps maximize adhesion and helps the patch remain securely in place.

Important

The Freedom Solo™ Over Patch is an adhesive accessory designed to provide an additional layer of support and protection over compatible diabetes devices and their existing adhesive.

Freedom Solo™ Patches are latex-free, zinc-free, and hypoallergenic. They use the same adhesive properties as the Freedom Underpatch™ Shield.

The Freedom Solo™ does not replace the manufacturer's adhesive, device instructions, or recommended skin-preparation procedures.

Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for your specific CGM, insulin pump, or infusion cannula.

The Freedom Solo™ is not an under patch and should not be placed underneath a CGM, pump, or cannula. It is designed to be applied on top of the device adhesive. It can be used with an under patch and is recommended.

If skin irritation, redness, itching, or discomfort occurs, discontinue use and remove the product.

It is recommended that the user test a small area of skin with the Freedom Solo™ adhesive before applying it over an expensive CGM, pump, or cannula to help ensure there is no adverse skin reaction.
