The protective guard helps shield your MiniMed Instinct sensor from bumps and snags, while the adhesive overpatch helps keep the protection system secured to the skin.

Because the sensor's original adhesive remains underneath, the Freedom overpatch can be replaced when needed without intentionally removing the sensor itself.

How to Apply Your MiniMed Instinct Overpatch

1. Apply your Medtronic MiniMed Instinct sensor according to the manufacturer's instructions.

2. Make sure the surrounding skin is clean and completely dry.

3. Position your compatible Freedom protective guard over the sensor.

4. Center the Freedom adhesive overpatch over the guard.

5. Smooth the adhesive outward against the skin.

6. Press firmly around the entire patch to establish good contact.

For best adhesion, avoid lotions, oils, or sunscreen around the application area.
